Ergomechanics Congress 2017 - Research meets Application

The 3rd GRAMMER Ergomechanics Congress was held at the ACC in Amberg on September 26, 2017. Under the motto “Research meets Application”, 14 highly regarded speakers engaged in an interdisciplinary exchange on topics relating to spinal and back health.

The event is staged in a format that is unique around the world. What made it even more special is that, in addition to seven internationally renowned scientists, five of our OEM customers agreed to present a technical paper. The proceedings were rounded off by presentations delivered by Dr. Susanne Frohriep, who also acted as congress chair, and Dr. Konstantin Krivenkov, who both focused on ways in which GRAMMER implements scientific findings in practice. The large number of representatives of key OEM customers from the commercial vehicles and automotive sectors is indicative of the strong interest customers
have in ergomechanics, and also of their high level of confidence in GRAMMER’s expertise. Following their presentations, the speakers answered many questions from the audience, and this resulted in an animated exchange of expertise at a high level.

“This innovative triangle of cooperation between medicine, OEMs and Tier1 suppliers will generate added value for all parties concerned and ultimately lead to products offering the final customer comfort and ergonomic seating. In addition, autonomous vehicles will call for new types of scientifically based passive and active comfort functions that will produce sustained benefits only via a multidisciplinary approach.” said Dr. Michael Borbe, Vice President Global R&D at GRAMMER AG.
